Looking For Alaska

Some weird anon just told shouted at me in CAPS that I’m Alaska and just need green eyes.. Is this some secret way of them telling me to get drunk and then kill myself? If so then that’s an interesting way of telling me like they referenced my favorite book while insulting me.
If not, then… Thank you? ?

The Great Gatsby book & movie review

Book: Okay so last week, I finished reading The Great Gatsby before I watched the movie. I instantly fell in love with this book. The symbolism, the love, the complications, the tragedy, everything was absolutely magnificent. I love the whole idea of The American Dream and the green light and how The American Dream was dying because everyone was soaking in their own wealth and riches. The ending made me cry but the novel was absolutely beautiful overall and wouldn’t be perfect any other way.
Movie: I thought the movie was a GREAT adaptation of the book. There was not a whole lot missing from the book, which was a big plus. Some people say the music did not fit well with the movie, but I think Baz (the director) chose right to amend in some of our own modern world in the movie in order to show the glorious feeling felt in the 1920s. The costumes and parties were amazing and just as I imagined. The actors were greatly chosen, I’ve always been a fan of DiCaprio (Gatsby) and Maguire (Nick) and I think they did amazing. Carey Mulligan had the perfect, innocent look for the part of Daisy and I honestly think she lived up to performance and indeed pulled it off. Edgerton (Tom), Elizabeth Debicki (Jordan), and Isla Fisher (Myrtle) were also great. Edgerton had the right amount of impatience and selfishness portrayed and the right look for Tom. Debicki didn’t seem to stand out so much for me so I don’t have a lot to say about her. Isla, although had a good performance, was too attractive for Myrtle which almost made me feel even more sympathetic for her than the book intended.

"It had gone beyond her, beyond everything. He had thrown himself into it with a creative passion, adding to it all the time, decking it out with every bright feather that drifted his way. No amount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart."
